How do I apply for a business license?
A home-based business requires approval from the Planning Division prior to issuance of a certificate. All other businesses located in the City require approval from the Planning Division, Building Section, and the Fire Department prior to issuance of a certificate. Also, if the business involves food products or is a Laundromat, the approval of the Los Angeles County Health Department is required. Once these entities have approved your business, you may submit a business license application to the Business License Section during regular business hours.
