Official Cooling Centers

Hot weather is being predicted for much of this summer. Temperatures are expected to go above 100 degrees in parts of the desert, mountains, and the San Gabriel Valley areas of Southern California.

The Azusa Senior Center at 740 N. Dalton, Azusa City Library at 729 N. Dalton and Memorial Park at 320 N. Orange were officially declared “Cooling Centers” by the Azusa City Council. The summer plan will be coordinated through the Recreation and Family Services Department of the City with two main objectives: to provide a place to cool off when the temperature rises to 100 degrees Fahrenheit or above, and to provide all persons with water to prevent dehydration, heat stroke and the onset of hyperthermia.  [Read more]
