The City of Azusa will be hosting a community meeting on Thursday, March 22, at 6:00 p.m. to discuss how to prevent and end homelessness in the city and the region. The meeting will be held at the Azusa Senior Center at 740 N. Dalton Ave., and residents, business leaders, community- and faith-based organizations, and City staff are encouraged to attend.
The community meeting represents a critical component of the City’s efforts to develop a three-year strategic action plan to address homelessness. The meeting will include a brief overview of regional issues and trends followed by opportunities for attendees to discuss their experiences, concerns, and ideas about what steps the community can take to reduce the impact of homelessness in the City of Azusa.
The City is creating the plan in partnership with cities throughout the San Gabriel Valley and the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments with the goal of establishing a regional approach that provides for sustainable solutions, positions the City to attract Measure H funding, and broadens the region’s collective impact on the issue. The planning process, which was funded through the Home for Good Funders Collaborative, is being facilitated by a team from LeSar Development Consultants.
