Water

Overview
The Water Services division is the older of the 2 utility services, beginning as the Azusa Land & Water Development Company in 1883. In 1993, the City of Azusa acquired the Azusa Valley Water Company increasing the service territory beyond the city limits to include the portions of Covina, Glendora, Irwindale, West Covina and portions of LA County unincorporated area.
As the largest municipally-owned water utility in the San Gabriel Valley, Azusa serves over 22,000 residents and businesses, consuming approximately 10 billion gallons of water per year.

Water quality is a major issue, and Azusa is fortunate to have pure sources high up in the San Gabriel Mountains.
